Equine Massage / Equine Anatomy / Equine Physiology / Conformation and Kinesiology / Equine Massage Theory and Techniques and Treatment/ Complementary Herbalism for Horses / Natural Horsemanship.
1. Equine Massage:
has been developed to aid the equine world. Just as the human body requires rehabilitation, relief from pain and stress, detoxification, improved circulation and joint mobility, so does the equine body. The Equine Massage Therapist works with veterinarians, coaches, trainers, horse care specialists and horse owners.
Our equine massage therapy program is a certificate course that offer intensive training in hands on techniques. With the assistance of veterinarians, registered massage therapists, Sanef. certified coaches, competitive riders and horse owners, a program has been designed to provide the student with the expertise to aide the equine athlete in rehabilitation as well as helping owners maximize the potential of their horses.
Part of what makes this program unique is that students are taught to consider themselves as an extension of veterinary health care, not an alternative, to minimize rehabilitation time and enhance performance.
The program over 4 weeks includes the modules in:
1.1. Equine Anatomy:
Understanding Anatomy is the cornerstone to practicing Equine Massage Therapy. This course is designed to give the student thorough knowledge of the functions of the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, and nervous systems. This will provide a basis of learning for the modules on massage theory, technique and treatments.
1.2. Equine Physiology:
This part of the course is designed to give the student a general level of understanding of the normal functioning of the equine body systems, their interrelationship, and the nature of homeostatic mechanisms. It will also provide a basis of learning for the other basis’s taught in this program.
